David (DJ) Pinney
Owner - Top Eye Guide Service

I was born and raised in Sioux City, Iowa just across the border of South Dakota. I graduated High School in 2000 and soon after decided to go full-time in the Iowa Army National Guard. I spent 25 years in the National Guard, with deployments to Kosovo, Iraq, and Afghanistan. I earned the Combat Infantry Badge, Combat Action Badge, and Pathfinder Badge. I also earned and was awarded over 25 different army service ribbons. I have a lovely wife named Courtney, and a son and daughter, Carter and Zyrra.

I have been fishing for as long as I can remember.  I grew up fishing lakes in NW Iowa, as well as reservoirs and lakes in South Dakota.  Professionally, I competed in the Cabela’s Master Walleye Circuit for several years. Soon after that, I started guiding for Joel Vasek with South Dakota Outfitters Unlimited.

Guiding has become a passion for me, and I can't think of any other activity I would rather do. The enjoyment I get from meeting different people from all over the country is priceless. I love sharing my military experiences with people on the boat as well as hearing other people's experiences.

I learn something new every day when it comes to fishing, and I hope if you decide to book with us, you will learn and create memories that will last a lifetime.
